About This Mystery

The eternal Son of God is born in a stable in Bethlehem because there was no room in the inn. Shepherds are the first to hear the angels' song. The One who holds the universe is laid in a feeding trough. God enters creation in absolute poverty and vulnerability — to meet us exactly where we are.

How to Pray This Decade

1

Announce the Mystery

Name the mystery aloud and pause briefly to meditate on it.

2

Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

3

10 Hail Marys

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Repeat 10 times, meditating on the mystery with each bead.

4

Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

5

Fatima Prayer

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy. Amen.
